this one is bred by the late Fred van Niekerk from South Africa who gave me a few seedlings in 2006.
He is well known in the Clivia world because of his Maxima plants. He claimed that they were a separate species in Clivia, but nowadays most people place them within the Clivia robusta group.
It is a real beauty with potential for breeding, having the group 2 yellow mutation from Natal Yellow in the background. In Clivia there are different yellow mutations that are not compatible with each other. They are named group 1 ,2 etc. When intercrossed they give orange flowers.
I Crossed it with White Robusta F1 to see if it is compatible, because crosses of white robusta with group 1 yellows gave only orange colours.
