Re: Das Problem der Schwerkeimer

Hallo Harald,

Germination inhibition as observed in many plant species has a natural cause as you also mentioned. Seeds should germinate in the best season to survive, so in many plant species the seeds are ripe in autumn (northern hemisphere) but if they would germinate directly they would die by ...

SCU01 14 d.JPG CSU01 compilatie2.jpg Hallo Tetje,

Fred found this material at a specific place long time ago before Clivia robusta was named. There was the Swamp gardenii (is now also Clivia robusta) and he found that it was not the same, but a species is almost never clear cut. There are some ...

Re: New Tetraploid interspecific Clivia von A. van Voorst

Hallo Martin,

maybe I will name it after the second time it will flower, hope it will be even better then. Now I have crossed it with 4Bossie ( verbesserte Deklan ) to get more open, recurved flowers.

Aart

Interspecif Clivia from well known South African breeder

Hi all,

this one is bred by the late Fred van Niekerk from South Africa who gave me a few seedlings in 2006.
He is well known in the Clivia world because of his Maxima plants. He claimed that they were a separate species in Clivia, but nowadays most people place them within the Clivia robusta group ...

Re: Kulturbedingungen für die Clivia mirabilis

Ah, C. mirabilis, it stays the most difficult one to grow.
I have six plants, but even my oldest ones from 2005 are

Two of his leaves got brown edges and the new leaf grows very slow.
Which brings me to the (maximum ...
